Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This notice explains how Remap Centre collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you contact us, request a quote, or use our online booking assistant, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
1. Who we are
Remap Centre Ltd (trading as Remap Centre) is the “data controller” responsible for your personal data. We are a company registered in England & Wales, company number 16897487, with our registered office at 20 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU.
You can reach us about your personal data at:
- Email: jack@remapcentre.uk
- Post: Unit C8 & C9, Usk Vale Park, Pontypool NP4 0JL
2. The personal data we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact details - your name, email address, phone number, and (if relevant) company name.
- Vehicle details - your registration plate and the technical data we look up from it (make, model, engine, ECU).
- Service address - for a mobile job, the address we travel to.
- Your enquiry & messages - what you tell us in the enquiry form and in the chat on your booking page, plus the quotes, bookings and job records that follow.
- Booking acknowledgements - where a service requires it, a record that you accepted an off-road/export declaration (your name, the date, and technical details such as your IP address).
- Technical & usage data - basic, anonymous information about your visit (pages viewed, approximate device type), collected by our cookieless visit counter, and - only if you opt in - advertising/analytics data via Google.
3. How and why we use your data
| What we do | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, and book and carry out the work | To provide the service you asked for | Performance of a contract (and steps before it) |
| Keep records of jobs, quotes and customers; follow up on quotes | To run our business and manage our customer relationship | Legitimate interests |
| Send booking confirmations, reminders and updates about your job | To deliver the service you booked | Performance of a contract |
| Keep a record that you accepted a legal declaration before certain work | To establish and defend legal claims and meet our obligations | Legal obligation / legitimate interests |
| Advertising and analytics cookies (Google) | To understand and improve our advertising | Consent (you can withdraw it any time) |
4. Our online booking assistant
Your booking page includes an AI assistant that helps answer questions, prepare a quote and book you in. Your messages and the details of your enquiry are processed by a third-party AI provider on our behalf to generate replies (see section 5). The assistant does not make any decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you without human involvement - our team reviews and handles anything it cannot, and you can always ask to speak to a person. Please don't share more personal information in the chat than is needed for your enquiry.
6. Storing data outside the UK
Some of our providers are based outside the UK (for example in the United States). Where your data is transferred internationally, it is protected by an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK law - such as the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision. You can ask us for more detail using the contact above.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only as long as we need it:
- Enquiries that don't lead to a booking are anonymised after around 12 months.
- Records of completed work and the related accounting records are kept for as long as the law requires (generally up to 6 years).
- Technical details attached to legal declarations (such as IP addresses) are removed once they are no longer needed.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask us to delete your data (“right to erasure”), where we don't need to keep it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing;
- ask for your data in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent (for cookies/marketing) at any time.
To exercise any of these, email jack@remapcentre.uk. We'll respond within one month. There's normally no charge.
10. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. See also our Terms of Service.
